The thermal SPA carved into the rock at Principato di Parrano
Wellbeing & Water

The Thermal Baths & SPA.

Millenary thermal waters, pools carved into the rock, saunas and treatment rooms. Wellbeing is ancient at Parrano.

Discover

The thermal waters have flowed beneath the castle walls for centuries: wellbeing tied to water is part of Parrano's history. The SPA, carved into the living rock between millenary stone arches and walls, preserves that heritage intact.

Tepidarium, Calidarium, Frigidarium — three spaces that revive the Roman thermal tradition. Private pools, saunas, treatment rooms, direct access to the external terrace. An intimate atmosphere, far from the world, where time truly slows down.

The Thermal Pools

Tepidarium, Calidarium, Frigidarium.

The thermal pools are the heart of the SPA. Warm water at 27° to dissolve tension, cold water to tone and regenerate. A contrast journey that follows the Roman thermal tradition, reinterpreted in the spaces carved into the castle rock.

Each pool is a private space — no crowds, just the sound of water and millenary stone.

The SPA carved into the castle at Principato di Parrano
Carved into the Castle

Stone, water, silence.

The Principato's SPA was not built — it was carved. The spaces were born from the castle's living rock, following the natural forms of millenary stone. Walls, vaults and arches are part of the original structure.

A place that has existed for centuries, where wellbeing is not an addition — it is the very history of the castle.

The Water

An ancient gift.

The Principato's thermal waters are bicarbonate-alkaline, rich in minerals, recognised by the Italian Ministry of Health for baths, mud, irrigation and aesthetic treatments. They flow naturally at around 27° from the Devil's Lairs, down in the valley below the village.

A water that heals, purifies and regenerates — for centuries, in the same rocks.

The Devil's Lairs
The Devil's Lairs

The original spring.

Down the valley, among cliffs of striking beauty, lies the Fosso del Bagno: a canyon carved by water into the hill through its millenary flow. Along this gorge twenty karst caves open up — the Devil's Lairs — where bicarbonate-alkaline thermal waters flow at around 27 degrees.

The main prehistoric finds of the area were discovered here, including the Venere Verde, female deity and symbol of fertility. A complex declared of “naturalistic importance”, destination of speleologists and archaeologists. The guided visit is a journey through geology, archaeology and legend.

A millenary source, declared of naturalistic importance, carrying millennia of history and benefits for the body.
